My heating kept going off and would go back on when the boiler switch was pressed. Then it went off completely. The plumber fitted a new valve and pump. It went off again and the plumber said it was a faulty pump came back and fitted another one....

If it is a cabinet just frame out the one wall with wood to thickness of your corner pile.

It would be easier to return the shower cabinet and get a glass enclosure with no base, that way you will have no problem with the shower drain.
