Can anyone tell me if it is ok to install plastic pipes with brass fittings in my heating system?

From my observations, I would say that it is the tap thread which is the problem, they are always parallel thread when they should be a tapered thread making then really self-sealing, the pipe fittings are usually pretty well to size especially the brass inserted fittings.
